Residential Intensive Support Manager
Location: Amsterdam, NY                                             
Reports To: Associate Director                                                      
Physical Requirements: Bending, pulling, lifting(up to 50lbs), standing, sitting, etc..
Hours of Work: Full Time 40 hours per week. Work hours vary. 15 hours of the manager’s schedule will be scheduled into the home’s schedule each week. Frequent evening hours required. 24 hour emergency coverage required. Quarterly awake night spot check required. Spot checks conducted at various times, frequency, and shift to ensure unexpected visits.
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Applied Behavior Analysis preferred or at least 3-5 years managerial experience
  • Experience working with individuals with intensive behavioral needs
  • Must be med certified and complete other training courses.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
  • Valid NYS driver’s license
Major Responsibilities:
  • Personnel Management
    • Provide Supervision and support to  Direct support staff
    • Train/coach staff as needed
    • Responsible for hiring/firing of staff and disciplinary action of direct reports as needed
    • Responsible for identifying recruitment needs
    • Responsible for all required yearly evaluations and leadership development tools as needed.
  • Training/Orientation
    • Ensure Orientation of new staff is completed per agency policy and procedure
    • Participate in trainings as needed and per agency policy and procedure
    • Monitor required training for direct reports
    • Meet with subordinates and supervisor as needed for leadership development 
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Follow agency, state and federal regulations in order to maintain compliance
  • Ensure all regulatory components of billing, physical plant, ISP paperwork, finances, assessments and agreements for all individuals served.
  • Accompany survey team during surveys (ie. internal, OFPC, OPWDD, etc..)
  • Review all incidents per policy and procedure and ensure for completion and follow up
  • Budget  Management
  • Ensure staffing levels are maintained daily
  • Manage  FTE’s and OT
  • Submit Purchase Requisition as needed and outlined in budget 
  • Safety
  • Maintain physical plant as outlined in agency policy and procedures
  • Maintain all regulatory and agency policy and procedures for fire safety
  • Monitor safety, security, potential hazards of all sites
  • Professionalism
  • Serve as a role model, be positive and flexible
  • Maintain open communication with  family members, advocates, support departments, community and outside entities
  • Demonstrate and uphold the agency’s commitments
  • Providing Individual Support
  • Ensure the health and safety of individuals served and the implementation of  What matters most to each individual served.
