Employment Supervisor
Location: Amsterdam, NY                                             
Reports To: Director of Human Resources                                 
Physical Requirements: Normal Office Environment
Hours of Work: Full Time, 37.5 hour per week
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in HR or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years Human Resource experience
  • PHR/SPHR certification or demonstrated willingness to obtain
  • Innovative and analytical thought process & attention to detail
  • Must maintain highest level of confidentiality, discretion and integrity
  • Working knowledge of ABRA, Kronos, and Crystal a plus
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Sensitivity to Agency needs, employee goodwill, and public image
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to provide honest, constructive and meaningful feedback and demonstrate the ability to remain objective
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language 

Major Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Recruiter & Ensure that the necessary hiring needs are met and basic screening of qualified candidates are followed
  • Recruit for all management and above level support department positions
  • Post job announcements internally, on the internet, and in print media as needed
  • Attend job fairs and career fairs at local high schools, colleges, and community venues
  • Conduct orientations and assure that new hire paperwork is completed
  • Help Conduct Exit Interviews
  • Plan writer for Affirmative Action Plans
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to enhance hiring and retention
  • Administer pre-employment testing as needed, such as: CBC, SEL, MHL, SCR, reference checking
  • Administrator of LENS (License Event Notification Services) program in accordance to proper disciplinary action for employee infractions
  • Ensure practices for Independent Contractors are followed and necessary steps are taken
  • Conduct Peer/Behavioral interviewing trainings to leaders and Direct Support Professionals as needed
  • Maintain Human Resource Intranet page
  • Manage HR metrics reports such as: turnover report and new hire by department
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor
