Location: Montgomery County, NY                                             
Reports To: Manager of Retail Operations                                                                  
Physical Requirements: Standing, sitting, reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, twisting, walking, lifting up to 50lbs, push & pull heavy loads
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Will vary with store hours, must be available for evening and weekend hours.
Job Qualifications:
  • High school diploma with 2 years of supervisory experience or Associates Degree or higher with 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Supervisory experience in a retail environment preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
  • Valid NYS driver’s license w/ no drug or alcohol related violations, excessive accidents or excessive points. 
Major Responsibilities:
  • Assists Manager of Retail Operations with responsibility for the store.  Manages team to achieve identified performance goals which address minimizing labor costs and losses due to shrink, damage and pilferage, identifying trends, opportunities for promotions, etc.
  • Ensures that federal, state, local and store regulations and standards for product freshness, food safety, weights and measures, store safety, employee safety, refrigeration and sanitation are upheld.
  • Demonstrates desired behaviors of staff which may include: driving sales, handling complicated sales, cash management, troubleshooting, etc. 
  • Personnel Management which may include interviewing, hiring, training & development, writing & delivering on-time performance evaluations, providing feedback, counseling, terminating.
  • Enforces and follows store policies. Ensures store clerks and lead clerks deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Monitors inventory to include ordering, storing, stocking, and display. Addresses needs appropriately and effectively.
  • Verifies deliveries against invoices.  Report shortages / overages to supervisor.
  • Ensures store is staffed appropriately and maintains staffing schedule for store location
  • Ensures all store equipment is properly functioning.
  • Perform duties of staff as required.
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.     
    Working Conditions/Equipment Used
    Use of mechanical equipment with moving parts such as a deli slicer, use of scales, working with refrigerated coolers & freezers, use of hand truck, use of company owned vehicle(s), use of general office equipment such as computer, printer, scanner, copier, fax machine & telephone, use of ladder and/or step stool, use of cash register & credit/debit/EBT card sale devices, exposure to a large variety of food products in various states including common allergens, exposure to various household and industrial strength cleaning products.
