Custodial Supervisor(Nights)
 
 
Location: Amsterdam, NY                                             
Reports To: Assistant Director of Facility Management                                                         
Physical Requirements: Lift up to 50lbs, Climbing, bending, standing, walking, kneeling, pushing, pulling, twisting, stooping, crouching.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Sunday – Thursday 4:00p – 12:30a, overtime as needed
 
 
Job Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience with 2 years supervisory experience
  • 3 years of floor care cleaning experience including stripping, waxing and carpet maintenance
  • Working knowledge of janitorial procedures and equipment
  • Basic computer skills
  • CPR certification required.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License

Major Responsibilities:
  • The duties of this job include but are not limited to the hiring, termination, discipline, supervision, training and scheduling of all night cleaning staff.
  • Ensure custodial services are completed on schedule and assist in performing actual custodial duties as agreed
  • Provide supervision and training for night cleaning staff and consumers as needed.
  • Maintain assigned equipment and follow manufacturer preventative maintenance schedule
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory level and submit purchase requisitions for needed supplies.
  • Ensure all department/agency policies and procedures are followed
  • Create, follow and maintain cleaning schedules for each building to ensure all tasks are completed as assigned
  • Follow safe operating procedures with regard to use of tools of the trade. This includes the use of knives and cutting devices in the course of work. This position is exempt from the knives restriction as outlined in the Workplace Violence Prevention Policy as knives are considered tools of the trade.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory level and submit purchase requisitions as agreed
  • Provide back-up for other department personnel and sites as necessary.
  • Ensure all department/agency policies and procedures are followed.
  • Provide person centered individual attention to all consumers.
