Assistant Controller
Location: Amsterdam, NY                                             
Reports To: Controller                                                                     
Physical Requirements: Normal office environment
Hours of Work: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Days, Additional hours as needed
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a Business related field.
  • Five years of progressive Accounting experience required.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Cost Accounting required
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
Major Responsibilities:
  • Assure timely and accurate journal entries and monthly financial statement reporting.
  • Assigns and distributes responsibilities (in consultation with Controller and CFO), supervise work assignments and prepares annual PES for assigned staff.
  • Maintain and monitor financial work papers, reports and ledgers according to established standards.
  • Produce internal monthly reports related to assigned reporting entities.
  • Creates and applies fiscal controls
  • Meet all Agency, Federal, State and County Reporting requirements as established.
  • Act as a fiscal liaison to Program Directors and Management.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
  • Develop and distribute budget information as agreed.
  • Responsible for but not limited to the discipline, hiring and termination of staff.
