Job Title: Consultative Nurse (RN)
Department: Administration
Location: State-wide residential programs
Immediate Supervisor: CCL Director
Hours of Work:
  • Part time up to 20 hours a week, days and times flexible
  • On call availability as needed
  • On site visits as medically needed and per regulatory requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Currently licensed RN in state of Delaware
  • One year clinical nursing experience
  • Background in working with individuals having developmental/physical disabilities a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Valid DE driver’s license, driving record in compliance with CCL requirements (travel required)
Additional Requirements:
  • Must meet all pre-employment requirements of CCL employees
Major Responsibilities:
  • Conducts audits of residential programs and agency for certification, licensure, and regulatory compliance with State and Medicare/Medicaid policies
  • Consults with managers and CCL management to assist with meeting regulatory requirements, medical compliance and improving health care delivery
  • Conducts investigations of complaints/concerns against agency/programs, including allegations of violations against health care regulations and resident care
  • Conducts in-service training for staff as needed to comply with specific medical needs and regulatory requirements
  • Provides medication administration oversight as needed
  • Prepares and maintains medical records, reports, evaluations  and summaries as required
  • Maintains an effective working relationship with other members of the treatment team, State personnel and residents, including accurate and timely communication as needed
  • Participates in and makes recommendations regarding quality assurance activities
  • Participates in resident planning/review meetings when necessary to provide medical opinions/recommendations
  • Pursue personal and professional development and attend mandatory agency and State mandated training as required
  • Minimum monthly visits to all assigned residential programs
  • Assess individuals with acute medical conditions for treatment recommendations/follow up
  • Communicate with medical professionals regarding necessary treatment/treatment options as necessary
  • Consult with managers regarding medical concerns of residents
  • Participate in management and residential staff meetings upon request
  • Other related duties as assigned
