Project Development Manager
Location: Amsterdam, NY                                             
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Assistant Director of Facility Management                                                         
Physical Requirements: Lift up to 50lbs, climbing(ladders), sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, crawling.
Hours of Work: Full-time, Mon-Fri 40hrs/week, 7:30a-4p, and as required.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with project management in residential and light commercial projects, including development of project specifications, bidding procedures and clerk of work responsibilities.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) or equivalent experience.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of federal, state and local building codes and regulations.
  • Must have good communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a clean, valid NYS Driver’s License
  • CPR Certification or the ability to become certified.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create construction drawings as required and ensure that all project specifications meet federal, state and local building codes and are within budgeted guidelines.
  • Act as the Facility Management Department direct liaison with architects, engineers, and code officials to assure good communication and project requirements are achieved.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation throughout each assigned project.
  • Implement required design changes to projects on a timely basis.
  • Review all designs and specifications submitted by outside sources to ensure they meet required standards.
  • Conduct field assessment to determine scope of work, solve field problems, and provide recommendations on project design.
  • Communicate with Construction Manager and general contractors to review design modifications necessary to complete projects on a timely basis.
  • Follow all department/agency policies and procedures.
  • Provide person centered individual attention to all consumers.
