Director of Medical and Clinical Services

 
Location: Amsterdam, NY                                             
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer                                                             
Physical Requirements: Normal Office Environment
Hours of Work: Full Time, 37.5hrs/wk. Mon-Fri 8:30a-4:30p, Flexible time, 24 hour on-call for all medical situations

 
Job Qualifications:

  • Licensed RN in New York State preferred or BA/MS in related field.
  • At least 5 years supervisory experience in a medical, clinical or agency setting preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license
  • Some travel required.  
     
Major Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all medical care and clinical supports for agency individuals according to current policy & procedure and regulatory requirements for all programs.
  • Acts as functional liaison with community medical and clinical service providers and our agency and staff.
  • Supervise and coordinate nursing, psychological program, occupational and physical therapy, speech language professionals & dietary department staff in residential and day programs.
  • Supervise RN and medical plans for CCL – Deleware.
  • Develop and maintain all medical and clinical policy and procedures and ensure they are current throughout the agency.
  • Maintain interdepartmental communication ensuring quality medical care and clinical supports throughout the agency including overseeing on-site audits.
  • Research regulations and assist with development of policy and procedures for out-of-state development, supervise medical and clinical staff and oversee programs and documentation.
  • Assist in optimizing crosscheck system benefits in Residential and Day Programs, report to Quality Assurance.
  • Participate in personal outcome assessments and assist in agency goals for council accreditation.
  • Participate and serve on multiple committees and/or meetings as assigned and as needed.
  • Pursue personal and professional development and attend mandated training as required.
