Supervising RN
 
Location: Amsterdam, NY                                             
FLSA: Exempt
Reports To: Director of Medical and Nursing                                                           
Physical Requirements: Normal Office Environment
Hours of Work: Full Time, 37.5 hours/wk, Mon-Fri. 24 hour on-call and some evening hours as required. Weekend work as needed, holiday/on-call as assigned on a rotating basis.
 
 
Job Qualifications:
  • BSN is preferred with a minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred as well.
  • Licensed RN in New York State.
  • Candidate should have a minimum of 1 year experience with the developmentally disabled. 
  • Computer skills helpful (Word, E-mail).  Strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skills are very important.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
 
Major Responsibilities:
  • The duties of this job also include but are not limited to the hiring, termination, discipline, supervision and scheduling of direct reports.
  • Provide medical services to individuals in the Residential programs in compliance with New York State, federal, local and agency.
  • Provide health and safety training to agency personnel to include in home and work sites.
  • Record and maintain individual medical records in compliance with all federal, state, local and agency policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings/surveys as part of the individual’s overall plan of care.
  • Responsible for assuring all communication is accurate and timely info and instruction to team and direct care system.
  • Pursue personal & professional development and attend mandated agency training as required.
  • Additional caseload coverage as assigned.
  • Assess for actual or potential health hazards whether physical or biological for each individual on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure medical caseload & management and supervision of RN and ensure programs remain in compliance with all medical regulations enforced by local, state, federal and agency policies and procedures
